Suquet, fisherman’s recipe

Any fisherman´s village keeps its own old recipes how to make a fish stew. Very simple, recorded in the memory of local housewives and cooks, these recipes are devoid of elaborate tricks.
Suquet is a typical dish that the fishermen of Cadaqués cooked right on their boats. Now it is served in all local restaurants. Suquet is cooked in an iron Catalan pan using different kinds of fish, potatoes and herbs, plus a little olive oil, salt and water. Cooking time is very short and suquet is usually served right on the pan.
We recommend that you definitely try it in one of the beach restaurants in Cadaqués.
